The Ho Chi Minh City Association of Geomatics (HAG) was found in May 25th 2000 according to  The Decision  No 5732/QD-UBND issued by the President of City Committee of administration . The HAG is under the direct leadership of HCMC Associations of Sciences And Technologies . It is also at the same time a sub-organization of Vietnam Association of Geodesy, Cartography and Remote-Sensing.
   Members in HAG are scientists and experts, who took and are taking parts in science and production activities in geodesy, cartography, air-photogrammetry, remote sensing, GPS, GIS, cadastral surveying as well as taking care of the development of the career in the city

   In cooperating with other societies in HCMC Association of Sciences and Technologies, HAG carried out, in six years (2000-2006), a lot of scientific seminars, research projects and map creation and evolutions, including HCMC scale 1/ 2000 terrain maps in VN2000 for database of HCMGIS system and HCMC scale 1/200 door-to-door transportation maps in WGS84 for real-time auto-controlling urban taxies and lorries systems.
